3 Nordstrom Spring Outfits | Who wears what

Welcome to The big test. With spring on the horizon, we took the opportunity to try on the best products from our favorite brands at Nordstrom and document the process. We believe that the most reliable way to shop online is to see what a product looks like in person and read honest reviews, so we hope this will lead you to successful spring shopping.

The older I get, the more conscious I am about the items I buy. Can I style it multiple ways? Can I wear it for more than one season? Is it too trendy? Is this my style? All these questions run through my mind when I’m pulling clothes off hangers or clicking “quick view” while shopping online. Lately, I’ve been able to answer these questions right away because the eponymous private label Nordstrom has released new items for spring and I’m feeling queasy. These pieces are timeless, luxurious and incredibly versatile. However, Nordstrom didn’t stop there. No item in the entire collection retails for more than $400, and many pieces range in sizes up to 4X. I looked at 624 pieces and selected 10 pieces below to try on and style. Utility overalls + sandals

My review: Contrary to appearances, I rarely wear utility overalls, and it’s not because I don’t like this style. I’m a fan of practical pockets, colors and cuts, but they often don’t suit my body type. I’m not a designer, but it must be difficult to create one piece that should fit perfectly on both the upper and lower half of someone’s body. Leave it to Nordstrom to craft an impressive utility suit that will be a real hit. The top fits me without any gaps between the buttons or any uncomfortable pulling along my chest. I’m 5’7″ and the pants stretch a bit, so next time I plan on wearing this style with wedge heels. I also like their too wide legs and airiness. I could wear this style almost anywhere, and it ticks three boxes: comfort, confidence, and chic.

T-shirt + pants + flip-flops

My review: As much as I love baggy pants, I only have one pair that I’ve worn to death for the past few years. Finding styles that fit my thighs and hips perfectly and didn’t bunch up at the crotch was quite a challenge for me, so I was thrilled when I tried on Nordstrom’s wide-leg pants and they fit perfectly. They’re loose but not baggy, creamy but not see-through, and appropriate for the office but not too corporate. Pleats add looseness and are stitched to avoid accidental pulls and folds.
